Aadhaar Card in Port Blair

Aadhaar, more than a mere card, a 12 digit number that can be used as a valid proof for various government and non-government services in future. It is issued to all residents including infants and those, who don’t have any other identity proof. Now, Department of Posts, A & N Islands Division is functioning as Registrar for Unique Identification Authority of India for Aadhaar enrolment. According to this, Port Blair Head Office works as enrolment station where people get Aadhaar enrolment forms. Biometric data like photograph, finger prints and Iris scan are captured here and a receipt of it is given to people. The people get Aadhaar number later by speed post.

Death Certificate in Port Blair

Concerned authority of issuing death certificates in Port Blair is Registrar, Birth and Death, DHS, Port Blair. Parents or relatives of the person who died should submit a filled application form to the Registrar along with the death slip that is issued by the ward doctor. Application written on a plain paper can also be submitted with the application for obtaining death certificate. No fee is charged for obtaining death certificate in Port Blair.

Marriage certificate in Port Blair

Marriage registration is compulsory in India and marriage certificate is the proof of registration. The Marriage Officer, Additional District Magistrate is the concerned authorities for issuing marriage certificate in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. To get marriage certificate in Port Blair, any one of either the boy or girl should have resided in Andaman and Nicobar Islands for thirty days before the date of issuing notice. A nominal fee of Rs 50 is charged for obtaining marriage certificate. The authority, who is to be approached to obtain marriage certificate is the Additional District Manager Commissioners office between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm. Declaration made by bride and the bridegroom, age proof and resident proof are the necessary documents for applying marriage certificate.

Ration card in Port Blair

A ration card is a family identity document issued by each state Government for the residents with which they can buy goods like wheat, food grains, sugar and kerosene depending on their economic condition. For getting new ration card to all residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and for adding, deleting or transferring ration cards in respect of Port Blair and South Andaman, residents here should make an application to the Directorate of Civil Supplies, Supply Lane, Port Blair with necessary documents such as proof of residence and income certificate from HOD/Tehsildar. No fee is charged to apply for ration card. People can also download the application forms in, but cannot submit online.

Driving license in Port Blair
